[S1E1] Original Sin Fixed

"Got a secret, can you keep it?" Oh, how nostalgic it feels to listen to the Pretty Little Liars intro, now creepier than ever. Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has just dropped its first three episodes, and the pilot introduces us to the new liars in town through a slasher aesthetic. The secrets, sudden deaths, and suspenseful text messages that fans grew to love in the original series are all present in the spin-off led by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the creator behind Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Lindsay Calhoon Bring. This means that there is a lot to break down here, but we've got you covered.

A cracking start to the much-missed teen drama. Unlike the first season of the original series, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin feels much darker. Overall, an exciting episode that bodes well for the rest of the season.

As someone who watched the original Pretty Little Liars I was very interested in this new series. Original Sin is much creepier, more intense, and has more of the jump scare factor. The issues these five girls face are a lot more heavy-hitting than in the 2010 show, but it is 12 years later. Plus, being on HBO Max could play a factor in that.

It has to be mentioned how the characters in this outing feel more real and relatable than in the original show, who used to sashay in the school in their designer outfits, bags, and shoes. The liars in this version are more sympathetic, grounded, humble, and supportive of each other. A lot of issues are discussed in this outing that are relevant; such as sexual assault, drug abuse, toxic parenting, bullying, and mental health trauma. Original Sin sees far too many people falling dead than all the seasons of the original series. 041b061a72
